CSV, XML and FTP
Inventory Import
Load a whole inventory from a CSV or XML file, a feed URL or FTP, map the fields once, and see what changed on every run.
Sources
Bring stock in from wherever it lives
Pick a source for each import.
Upload a file
Pick a CSV or XML file from your computer. Best for a one-off load.
Point at a URL
Use the web address of a feed that a supplier or provider keeps current.
FTP or sFTP
Pull the file from a server with a host, login, path and port. Tick sFTP for a secure connection.
Import from VINs
Enter or upload VINs and the specs fill in from the VIN decode.
Mapping
Map your fields once
Tell the system which column or node holds the price, the make or the model. Sensible matches are suggested, and you adjust any that are off.
- Set the delimiter for CSV, or the listing node for XML
- Download images in the background so every listing has its main photo right away
- Pick Resume Import if a run stops, and it carries on from that row
Logs
See what every run did
Each run keeps a log of what it created, updated, left unchanged, removed and could not read.
- Changes lists each listing the run touched, with its row number and what changed
- Problems groups failed rows, such as an image that would not download
- A run is flagged when the file is much smaller than last time, which often means a feed is missing listings
- A summary email itemizes what was added, updated and removed
Keep it moving
Automate it, send it out, write it up
Run it on a schedule
On the Standard plan and up, an extension runs imports and exports on a schedule, so a URL or FTP or sFTP feed keeps your inventory in sync on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about importing
Which file types can I import?
CSV and XML files. You can also import from a feed URL or an FTP or sFTP server. Coming from Frazer? Use the Frazer connector instead.
Does an import update listings I already have?
Yes. It creates listings that are new and updates ones that exist, and the log shows what changed.
Can I schedule imports and exports?
Yes, on the Standard plan and up. An extension runs imports and exports on a schedule from a URL or an FTP or sFTP feed. See pricing.
What if my import stops or times out?
Download images in the background, or lower the rows per request. The screen keeps your place, and Resume Import carries on from the row it stopped at.
Can I see what an import changed?
Yes. Each run has a log with the listings it created, updated or removed, the rows with problems, and a full text log.
Can I export my inventory?
Yes. Export to CSV or XML, then download the file or push it to an FTP or sFTP destination. See how inventory export works.
